That was basically the attitude of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie after the Giants cornerback learned the NFL had admitted it erred on two key calls in the season-opening 27-26 loss to the Cowboys — blown calls that certainly could have changed the outcome of the game.

“That’s just one you have to live with,’’ Rodgers-Cromartie said. “That was a tough one.’’

A third-quarter pass-interference call on Rodgers-Cromartie, who was shadowing receiver Terrence Williams on a third-and-4 play, handed the Cowboys 16 gift yards and a first down. That directly led to a Dallas touchdown. It should not have been a penalty, the league conceded to the Giants.

I agree that was a bad call, HOWEVER... Eli Manning says he told Rashad Jennings not to score. They have bigger issues.

But when all is said is done, the only worse handling of a "clock" than by the muzzie yute in Irving, TX, was by Eli Manning and Coach Coughlin in the remaining seconds of the Cowboys 27-26.

I’m surprised the Giants have stuck with Manning so long; I like him and was glad to see him beat the Bradymonster twice, but he’s just not that good. Romo made Eli look like a novice; without some really stupid mistakes by Dallas that game wouldn’t have been close.

Dallas is a better team, but I would still take Eli over Romo.

A high school student called it in the comments section. Eli was trying to take time off the clock. Call it fear of Romo, mistrust in the defense, overthinking, whatever. There was a reason for not wanting to give the ball back with that much time on the clock.

Remember how Seattle got beat in 33 seconds when Dallas was down by two scores? Bledsoe threw a TD pass to T.O...then an onside kick got the ball back for Dallas and scored again while the Seattle fans were leaving the stadium thinking they won lol....until the crowd (what was left of it) went crazy and Dallas won. So to narrow it down....even if the Giants had a two score lead with over a minute left...there was a strong possibility that Romo could have still won the game condsidering the fact that he leads the league with 4th qtr come back wins. End of discussion. Bradford was in the exact situation and could not even pull off a win with his weapons...but instead threw an easy interception and ended the game with a loss. There is no comparison to Romo in the last minute of a football game folks.

What is wrong with Manning asking Jennings to not score on first two downs if he got close to goal line? The idea was to eat up time without allowing Dallas to call time out.

If you are talking about the Lynn Swan play back in SB X, Swan caught the ball, one of the greatest catches in SB history. Since he caught the pass, the PI call was immaterial. I believe that was the same game that Jackie Smith dropped a easy catch in the end zone. He makes that, and the cowboys had a chance to win.

Not my words, hers. And as of last night, Peyton did the two score comeback with :33 left on the clock. There are many such examples of 2 minutes left being more than enough time to close a two score (or in Eli’s specific case, a score and a FG) deficit.

I have always asked rabid football watchers why do you watch the whole game, just watch the last 4 minutes, which take 30+ minutes to play out
