Last Fall Beau broke all records and hit 3 deer - AND A STEER.

The deer were small, so were ground into dog food. The steer was insured (owner had a fence down and the thing was in the road) but that was $1,500.00 worth of free meat, just for our effort to butcher it.

One headlight lost and a dented fender on his POS work truck.

I have never hit ANYTHING in my 39 years of driving, so I’m pretty much due. Grrrr!

Many years ago while driving between Milwaukee and Madistan,
I witnessed the strangest deer Vs tractor trailer mash-up during an ice storm. 3 does slowly ambled across I94 right in front of a semi truck. He couldn’t do a thing about it them. Never hit the brakes. He took the first two out and the truck behind him took the third. Again no brake lights. Parts of them were scattered all over both lanes. Gruesome. I ended up with deer parts on my truck. Couldn’t slow down enough to swerve due to ice build up.
Had to explain to the boss why there were deer parts covering the front end of our 2 year old shop truck.

My husband replaced his front bumper 3 times at great expense — no deer. He hit a coyote, a turkey (the most expensive, a racoon, and a snow bank. Damned plastic bumpers! No damage since he got the deer whistles. My driveway is a deer trail. Without a dog, they no longer hide.

It’s a kick to round the corner in my driveway to confront a wall of deer and watch them scamper away. I can look to my right and spot them in the pasture running fast. Instead of running AT me, they turn tail and go the opposite direction.
