Lost in the fun and frivolity of Tuesdays ESPN hatchet job on the Patriots was this companion piece in Sports Illustrated, which I never got to.
Of course nothing pleases the national pundits and fan bases in other markets like accusing Patriots fans of being crazy, paranoid, conspiracy-theorist nutjobs, and you know how much I hate incurring their scorn. So Im sure its just a coincidence that two of the leading sports media outlets simultaneously came out with almost identical articles dredging up the same tired, unsubstantiated rumors about an eight-year-old Spygate story and both conveniently posted them at the same time, between Tom Bradys court victory and Thursday nights banner drop...
...Patriots fans are the paranoid ones? The rest of the NFL treats the Patriots like theyre the KGB, scanning the mountains for spies, sweeping rooms for bugs, locking doors, seeing phantom Pats employees in every jabroney with an iPhone, measuring the temperature of their Gatorade and counting fumbles, and were the tinfoil hat-wearing kooks?...
...Or to put it in the words of one anonymous executive whos quoted in the article who sums it all up best, All this stuff speaks to manifestations of the same thing. Its the Patriots, and its everybody else. That is so true. And we are not the crazy ones.

Well the milkman's a spy, and the grocer keeps on following me, And the woman next door's an undercover for the K.G.B., And the man from the Social Security Keeps on invading my privacy, Oh there ain't no cure for acute schizophrenia disease.
I've got acute schizophrenia, paranoia too, Schizophrenia, schizophrenia, I've got it, you've got it, we can't lose, Acute schizophrenia blues.
I'm lost on the river, the river of no return, I can't make decisions, I don't know which way I'm gonna turn, Even my old dad, lost some of the best friends he ever had, Apparently, his was a case of acute schizophrenia too.
I got acute schizophrenia, paranoia too, Schizophrenia, schizophrenia, I've got it, you've got it, we can't lose,
They're watching my house and they're tapping my telephone, I don't trust nobody, but I'm much too scared to be on my own And the income tax collector's got his beady eye on me, No there ain't no cure for acute schizophrenia disease.
No there ain't no cure for Schizophrenia disease.

I’d like to wish the entertainer Tom Brady good luck for the new season- go out there and break a leg!

Id like to wish the entertainer Tom Brady good luck for the new season- go out there and break a leg!
Why be such a piker...? Why don’t you wish he’d go out and immediately incur a grade 3 concussion injury, and risk brain damage the rest of his life...I mean, while you’re wishing for things, and all that...
Sheesh...
Where’s your sense of humor,Clancy?
Meanwhile, I figure tonight’s opener breaks some records for number of viewers and the “scandals” will have everything to do with that.
And you’re a loser
