Anhauser-Busch will not be turning a profit either.

And they'll never figure out which side to sponsor.

Not my leftist minister.

I'm surprised he didn't take this opportunity to praise the triumph of homosexuality and the state.

It’s a she. And I’m surprised she didn’t either. Methodist Church by the way. Just in case you were wondering.

Yes, and we had a time of prayer for her. Our church runs about 2000 in attendance.

Yes she was upheld and prayed for from the pulpit, and the whole congregation prayed for her and for God to vindicate her. I was very pleased.

No it is not against the law to get into politics in church.

It is against the law to endorse a particular candidate. That’s all.

Yes, my church and yours are in the minority.

Looks like a clear majority of FReepers on this thread said their churches acknowledged Kim Davis.

If once elected they change the laws you owe to your oath to resign and work to change the law.

Perhaps God is prompting her to go to jail as her way to "work to change the law."

My pastor promised he would carry the message and elevate Jesus while never letting us know his political leanings. It’s obvious that he is conservative in his values, but he has stayed true to his word. That said, he did manage to weave in a little bit on how many of the Apostles were martyred for their firm belief in Christ and refusal to deny Him.....

Sunday services are a time of peaceful reflection in which they can quietly review their memories about the college games they watched yesterday and tranquilly anticipate the professional games they are about to watch

Yes, and Holy Eucharist tides them over while they ruminate about the Grand Slam Breakfast they are about to receive at the local Denny’s...

These are good people, for the most part, and don’t deserve snark from the likes of me, but for all the caterwauling about feeling ‘left out’ of the Latin Mass, it’s painfully obvious they leave themselves out of the dumbed down service designed for them...

“He didn’t seem all that comfortable talking about it,”

Disturbing. Maybe he needs to find another line of work.

“If once elected they change the laws you owe to your oath to resign and work to change the law.”

No condescension intended, you should investigate the bibilical concept of “the lesser magistrate.” When a greater magistrate begins to promote and defend evil, and punish good, it is the lesser magistrate who must step in and stop it.

Not resign.

Daniel didn’t resign.

“Were some arguing against Kim during the duscussion?”

I don’t recall anybody speaking out against her, but rather the opposite. People saying that they hope they would have the strength and such to do as she has done if faced with a similar situation. People had nothing but praise for her. One individual did bring up what others have said about her having prior marriages, but that seemed to be resolved in the fact that she only recently became a Christian, repented of her old ways, has been forgiven, and now in Christ is setting an excellent example.

Don’t get me wrong. I trust my pastor. He frequently admits to his flaws and struggles, which is how he has established so much trust.

While discussing how each of us needs to take ownership of our sins, he kept saying he himself is not judging and looking down on each of us.

He knows he can lose people to the other side if he doesn’t get the balance right when discussing this. That was the struggle I was referring to in my earlier post.
