So did anyone go to church today and hear any mention of Kim Davis being jailed for adhering to her Christian beliefs?

It was the main topic of the homily at my parish in NJ.

It’s great to hear! Did they support Kim?

Yes and we prayed about it as I’m sure thousands of others did. Qnyone who isn’t concerned with doesn’t see the bigger picture. I’ve still yetto find outif the judge is gay or bisexual himself. I’m hoping that someone that knows will post it up. If so that fact alone could cast personal bias on his judgment in this matter and make a difference. He sure looks like a flamer.

It’s against the law to get into politics in Church, although many priests and pastors get around it in various ways without naming names. I don’t know what my priest is saying anyway because I go to a Latin Mass (actually the sermon is in English)

No. I preached on the benefits of being present when the church assembles.

I bet the judge is gay. He was also involved in a case where high school students who were for Traditional Marriages (had club, perhaps) were forced to get re-educated. (don’t have particulars).

I bet the gays went to that particular clerk bc of that particular judge and that particular locale, I bet I bet.

There’s an article floating around here at FR that judge bunning forced anti-homosexual activists to attend sensitivity training. So even though he may not be homosexual himself, he certainly champions the homosexual agenda.

It’s great that your church acknowledged Kim and prayed for her.

The people who really need to hear it weren’t there ;-).

Reminds me of when Mexico played Colombia in the World Cup, and we had only about 20% of the congregation for Mass. In his sermon, the deacon, who’s from Puerto Rico, mentioned putting God over futbol, but the people there already knew (or don’t care about futbol at all, or maybe only their home country).

Really? I was unaware of that.

I'm intrigued to hear more.

Raised Catholic/ doesn’t mention he is gay, but he’s sure pro-gay.

I hope your pastor is able to find any reason to be encouraged, despite the current statement of things.

“In 2003, he ordered the school system of rural Boyd County, Ky., to allow a student group, the Gay-Straight Alliance, to meet on school grounds. He later oversaw a legal settlement that included anti-harassment sessions for the system’s students.”

His dog died on Friday, so he was down in the dumps. She (the dog) was 15.

When he gets going on how our country is a mess, he always emphasizes what each individual can do to make things better. Today it was, “Be good to your family.”

What politics? Don’t think it’s a political issue as much as a moral one. John the Baptist was not beheaded for chiding Herod for his “politics.”

Brought up by members of congregation during prayer request time. We discussed it before and after service.
