When did Obonzo’s “fundamentally transformed” butt boys make it illegal to eat a rabbit? I hadn’t heard about this.

Should anyone walking out of an In-N-Out or Chick-fil-A be arrested for cruelty to cows or chickens? Or is making it yourself a legal distinction?

The legal distinction is that it wasn't his rabbit to eat.

I had a frat bro who ate another frat bro’s pet turtle alive on a bet - it was a small one. Put in hamburger bun, loaded with ketchup & mustard - arghhhhhhh!!!!

Can’t arrest him because he’s no longer alive.

I put a friend’s goldfish in my beer and swallowed it......am I in trouble?

Oh, also was named a “gatornapper” by a national newspaper in 1965 for “borrowing” a full-grown, 6’, 200 lb. alligator that later found its way into Indiana’s largest lake (not part of our plan), and being arrested & tried, & found guilty - and having both Walter Cronkite and Huntley/Brinkley close out their evening broadcasts with the story....

More than 50 years ago.........

Unless he roasted it alive why animal cruelty? Personally I don’t care for it, but aren’t rabbits considered edible animals in most areas? Yes, he shouldn’t have eaten his girlfriend’s pet, but still...animal cruelty?

If it wasn’t his rabbit to eat, it is a property crime not an animal cruelty crime. Cattle rustlers are not charged with animal cruelty.

She was a fool for having a pet rabbit and for living with that guy. She is lucky he only killed, skinned, and cooked her pet rabbit and not her!

So animal cruelty depends on whether the animal had been a pet?

He should have been charged with people crueltym, and destruction of property.

[[Prosecutors say Dimitri Diatchenko pleaded guilty Friday to animal cruelty.]]

Killing an animal is ‘cruelty’? Since when? Cattle ranchers and pig famers beware I guess

It was considered a pet, not much difference than Obummer eating someone’s dog.

[[although it’s emotional cruelty to his ex-girlfriend.]]

Precisely- Animal cruelty is when a person doesn’t feed an animal starving it to death, or beats the animal causing serious injury or death, or leaves an animal in a hot car until it dies etc=- killing an animal is not cruelty- otherwise deer hunting would be banned- however, as you point out, it was emotional cruelty, and theft of property perhaps

What’s wrong in eating a rabbit? How about eating your friend’s chicken?

Ye Gods! Now we can’t even eat what is in the supermarket or it’s a crime...only if it was loved by someone.

Story doesn’t say how he killed it. Maybe it was quick and humane. Seems like the charge should have been ex-girlfriend cruelty.
