I told my son I’d slap him into the next millennium if he came home with piercings and tattoos.
He was pissed!(because he already knew better)
When I was a teen, I grew my hair out, more to PO my father than anything else.
He told me that he was going to get me earrings and a dress to with it, unless I got it cut.
Mission accomplished. I got it cut. :-)
