The GOP establishment is very concerned with Donald Trumps enduring appeal with conservative voters. The party elites are reportedly planning a deluge of anti-Trump ads following the Labor Day weekend.
CNN reported:
Its no secret the Republican establishment is unnerved by Donald Trump and his lead in national and key state polls.
And now, after weeks of assuming his support would be fleeting, there is a debate about how to take aim at Trump and just who should finance such an effort.
CNNs Maeve Reston noted that most GOP strategists see risks in having the attacks come from the other candidates or their directly affiliated super PACs. So, she reports, there is conversation about what other group might raise money for anti-Trump TV ads.
There are a lot of donors out there who see it as much too dangerous, obviously, for the candidates, or their allied super PACs, to go after Trump, said Reston. So theyre looking to more establishment PACs to potentially take him down in post-Labor Day ads.
They seem determined to have 4 more years of a Dem president.
All of that SuperPAC $$ going to fight the DNC....NOT.
Midge/Bonehead & Co have spent MORE $$ running attack ads on Republicans, than they have against the Dems. What does that tell you?
Sounds like a bluff that will eventually be folded.
i never understood why Pols never did this before, but then again, Trump is unlike anything we've seen in a long time.
Watch his poll numbers go UP after the ads air.
1) Name another political party that tries to take out their leading candidate because he’s too popular?
2) Should we trust the liberal media with this type of story?
It’s a shame that this is even believable whether the media is stirring up crap or not. I suspect that if the GOP-e does run a bunch of anti-Trump ads, it will only embolden Trump’s position as anti-hero taking on both parties.
How?
Ads that say the border shouldn’t be secured? That shipping factories to China is good for the country?
Yeah, that should work out real well.
So theyre looking to more establishment PACs to potentially take him down in post-Labor Day ads.
They sound fairly confident about their efforts. If their efforts automatically ordain the goals they seek, why didn’t they try it with Obama? The media will be glad to take their money.
Sounds like someone is jealous of someone else’s success. That sounds like a liberal party, not conservative one. I wonder if it has ever occurred to them, for even a second, WHY he’s surging in the polls? Nope. I didn’t think so. They fear him because he threatens their job security and their golden goose.
Good luck with that.
If they succeed, the main beneficiary would be Cruz.
Going after Trump..
BECAUSE HE CAN'T BE BOUGHT!!
GOPe / RINO Caucus:
Liberals attacking Conservatives 24x7.
The RNC is clueless, they seem to not be figuring out that part of the reason Trump is so popular is that these guys hate him... the harder they try to take him out, the more popular he will become.
DC is always out of touch with the nation, but the schism between the inside the beltway crowd and the nation they have been betraying for decades has never been greater... they are beyond out of touch.
How can we elect a man who ties his dog’s carrier to the roof of a SUV. Wait, Romney did that.
isn’t this type of uniform coordination still illegal?
I can’t stand the RINOe.
I also think Trump is a distraction and not a real conservative. But he has done us a great service in destroying Jeb and his fellow squishes and is going to make them waste a lot of money, for which I am very grateful.
Wonderful news, all around.
