I’m not denying that social agencies overreach. Usually, though, people whose children are taken when the agencies overreach don’t go to the media saying their children were taken just because they were so well cared for. Instead, they build their case. They offer facts about the situation and what excuses the government gave, and they counter the government claims. This woman claims the state took her child just because she dressed her nicely and combed her hair. Does it ring true to you that an agency would say to a parent, “We’re taking your child because she’s so well groomed”? I’ve never heard of them not at least pretending they’re acting in the child’s best interest. There aren’t enough facts here, but the mother’s explanation suggests there’s more going on than she’s willing to admit.
I repeat, I am not commenting on this piece, there is more to it than what we are reading.
I am using it to point out how out of control our so called child protection agencies are. These agencies are operated by hard core, true believers of the liberal persuasion.
In Florida, around 1990, there were news articles about how CPS social workers pronounced it to be child abuse if parents did not take their children to McDonalds or would not allow the children unrestricted access to television. They also included not buying the popular style of shoes or dress in their definition of abuse — so, yes, it rings true to me. I can’t say what happened to this woman and her family, but I assure you, the idiot Progressives who are attracted to social work will try to punish anyone who does not go along with their agenda
