But honestly.. none of their newer stuff is anywhere near “Number of the Beast” quality.

“Fear of the Dark” was the turning point I think.

I gotta put my support in for Brave new world. Thin Line Between Love and Hate is just f’ing awesome. I don’t know what it is but that album just does it for me.

IMO they generally got their groove back when The air raid siren returned but yea, not as good as the first era overall.

Of course absolute terrible Maiden is better than the absolute best of any metal band.

Maiden have gotten more progressive from Brave New World in 2000 on. It’s incredible that they’re still recording. There’s lots of bands from that era who still try to do things, but should’ve packed it in a while ago. Look at Motley Crue. They’re doing a farewell tour. Maiden are older, are about to release a new album next year, and will tour for two years starting next year.
