They’re talking about BootCamp, the Apple program for dual-booting. Parallels is for VMs, totally different way to run. BootCamp runs the Windows OS directly on the hardware, no virtualization.
I believe that’s how my cousin and I duked it out on online multiplayer. (He’s a mac user; I am a ipod touch/ipad user.

No virtualization BUT ... Bootcamp runs a bios emulator to get Windows to interface with the hardware.
