We’ll know by November, about 3 months to go.
There are a bunch of primary registration deadlines and states with sore loser laws.

Trump already graded up to A- in latest Numbers USA evaluation: https://www.numbersusa.com/content/elections/races/presidential/2016-presidential-hopefuls.html

I think the proper question is: which Senator would fill Cruz’ shoes?

Keep in mind Cruz really understands the US Constitution.

Cruz understands the Constitution, Constructionist interpretation and that is the correct interpretation but damned if 5 members of the SCOTUS didn’t get it. I’d say all in all, people like Alan Keyes could get it as obviously, Mike Lee does too. What was the intent of the framers.

“If Cruz gets the nomination he gets to pick whoever he wants as VP. No reason he would pick Bush and no way the party establishment could make him.”

You are assuming the party wants Cruz as the nominee. Remember, even though you win primaries, it’s the delegates who cast their votes for the eventual nominee. And they could very well cast their votes for Bush.

And before you go with the, “If Bush is the nominee I am staying home” a Cruz/Bush ticket and you are going to the polls to vote. I saw somewhere on this thread about Bush would never take the spot if offered. Yes he will, because in 8 years he will still be young enough to run.

It’s the only winning ticket where everyone is happy. Trump will not take Cruz on the ticket. Just won’t happen.

Trump is very popular with senior citizens. He’s the only one saying that Social Security can be saved without cuts and raising the age requirements.

No, I am inferring his position may cost him voters because of these electorates

However in a rather rare move, Trump took a definitive stand early on, regardless of the potential cost, instead of trying to play pander bear like an establishment candidate

Why oh why do we are about the VP position? It’s a USELESS position unless there a tie in the Senate...

Useless? Maybe. But not irrelevant. First, in the obvious, the President could die. That alone, prevented many people I know from even considering McCain, because they were of the opinion that Palin was a ditz that couldn’t point out Russia on a map or name a single magazine she’s read.

It matters. Big time. Especially before the election.

Snort. So what? The Shot Callers will get another minion in there. No matter who is in the White Hut:

1) We'll lose more freedom;

2) We'll pay more taxes (or our currency will be devalued more, same thing), and/or

3) We'll have more government that ever before, because once created, a federal program almost never goes away.

Can it happen?

No. It'll be Cruz and someone else.

President Ted Cruz! and whomever he sees fit to choose for VP.
Suggestions:
Mike Lee - Senate Majority Leader
Lt.Col.Allen West - Sec of Defense
Ben Carson - Surgeon General/HHS
Tom Bolton - US Ambassador to UN
Lynne Cheney - Secretary of State
There are others but I’m too distracted right now to remember them.
;-)

Oh, and
Sarah Palin - Secretary of Energy
Eventually Cruz and Lee in black robes holding forth in the Supreme Court of the United States.

Dang it!
Should have been JOHN Bolton.
That’s what happens when I am distracted.
