SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Three years after California voters passed a ballot measure to raise taxes on corporations and generate clean energy jobs by funding energy-efficiency projects in schools, barely one-tenth of the promised jobs have been created, and the state has no comprehensive list to show how much work has been done or how much energy has been saved.
Money is trickling in at a slower-than-anticipated rate, and more than half of the $297 million given to schools so far has gone to consultants and energy auditors. The board created to oversee the project and submit annual progress reports to the Legislature has never met, according to a review by The Associated Press.

This type of corruption is typical in the so-called green energy sector.
The real story I see is that the mainstream media is actually reporting on these numerous green failures.
Cali has gone marxist and the blame is on the GOPe for going left.
It seems that nearly all of these Green initiatives are little more than egregious kickback schemes.
It’s corruption. It’s an ever-growing pestilence once fed taxpayer dollars and the kids’ education certainly isn’t enhanced by it.
I can’t wait for the illegals to go back to where they came from. Maybe then Californians can clean up their state and put those dollars to work in a way where corruption is easily spotted by the parents.
Almost $1,500,000 pissed away just for some meetings between bureaucrats and Sparkles The Green Energy Wonder Consultant.
In truth, the goal was never to create any jobs, just as obama’s payoffs to Solyndra and like scams also weren’t. The whole point is confiscate money and control.
Now that's funny.
BTW, Welcome to Free Republic.
More green con-artists getting fat on the government teat. But it’s all good as long as they donate to the politically correct campaigns.
ROFL that made my day! :)
Clearly, mistakes were made. They didn’t provide enough funding and the taxes are too low.
There is no problem government can’t fix with higher taxes and more funding.
There is no problem government cant fix with higher taxes and more funding.
Wait for Gov. Moonbeam to come out with the old politician favorite -
“Lessons have been learned....” :^)
Thank you very, very, very much. :)

It's even better than that. "The board created to oversee the project and submit annual progress reports to the Legislature has never met, according to a review by The Associated Press." But, I bet they all FEEL better about their role in helping the environment. And that's what is important. /S
For that amount of money, they could get a lot of $150 solar panels in two days with Prime shipping!
Cloudy days? Kids love playing with flashlights.
