“Oklahoma State has a young QB who could be the next Heisman winner.
Of course he could also be a disappointment after only playing 3 games last year.”
Quite possible on both counts...the backup option is no slouch though....barely missed beating FSU last year with him.
ditto
GO HOGS
I would agree that the SEC is the best conference. But one could well ask if the SEC is so superior how is it that some like Missouri could waltz into the SEC and win the SEC East two times in three years. Missouri when they were in the Big Eight was a middle of the road program not really that great and they’ve trotted into the SEC and done remarkably well. Of course it has helped that the SEC East has been pretty weak these past few years.
I think Alabama lost too much talent to be ranked #3.
Not seeing them finishing in the top ten this year.
SEC is the best conference year after year. But it’s a slaughterhouse. Very tough to get through a season without one or two losses and get beat up along the way.
The OL is going to be our problem this year, defense will have to win the majority of games for us this year.
Old Mess has no running game, a new QB, and shaky offensive line, their best receiver blew the Auburn game last year after being crippled, and their fan base is morally, spiritually, and genetically inferior...the Grove is like the MSNBC Lounge.
The 1A-1B platooning of the defense last year is paying off dividends this year, with experience coming back out the wazoo- and Manny Diaz back to lead them (he sucked at Texass because, well, they are Texass)
Finally, the toughest games next year (LSU, Alabama) will be at home. Their toughest road games will be at Auburn and at Texas A&M. Finally, tMSU won't be caught off guard and get upset by an inferior team like Ole Miss (with their inferior fan base).
Look for The Mississippi State University heading to Atlanta to play Georgia for the SEC Championship, then destroying Ohio State in the National Championship.
I knew that was you!!!
lol
I’m surprised A&M isn’t on the list. They have a solid sophomore quarterback and the incoming freshman quarterback was the best high school quarterback in the country.
They also have a new defensive coach from LSU.
Their offense has been strong for a long timr, but defense was one of the worst. The defense should be much improved this year, so I think A&M will be good.
We’re going to the A&M - Arkansas game.
and to the Baylor - Texas Tech game.
and the Baylor = West Virginia game.
Born and raised in Arkansas. Used to live in College Station and loved it there. Visit about six times a year.
Went to Baylor. Talk about mixed emotions! I won’t know who to root for when the Aggies play the Hogs but I won’t be disappointed no matter what the outcome.
Naturally I’ll root for Baylor all the way! I sure hope they go undefeated but they’ve got a tough row to hoe.
I agree. Sumlin knew the defense was lousy. It won’t be this year.
It will be very interesting to see what happens a few seasons from now when all the big conferences (SEC, Big 12, Big 10, and Pac 12) have a lot of competitive teams.
Ed Davis loss is a significant hit at OLB.
My opinion is that their weak link will be the receiving corp.
It seems like every year I get surprised at ND’s starting position.
Yeah, it’s not like Missouri won or tied for the Big 12 North 3 out of their last 5 years in the Big 12. Oh, wait.....
