This has been a long time coming. The open carry laws have been modified by the legislature and signed by the (democrat) Governor. The police need to learn what the law actually says.

What do “Oath Keepers” have in common with Marxist-Commie Black “supremacists”?

Carry a printed copy of the statute in question. Hand it to any investigating officer. Remind him or her that if they make an arrest after being informed of the law they lose their indemnity and can be prosecuted criminally and sued civilly.

I understand the point but wouldn’t it be better to arm the business owners and at risk residents than the enemy?

What is the goal of the OK’s?
1. Show that police will not shoot armed black people?
2. Protect protestors from the gangsters?
To: TexasGator
I’m having a very hard time understand this one....
Oath Keepers:
Former military, police officers, etc. that took an oath to live by the Constitution of the United States,,,ok and then I get lost on: are they helping the ‘gang bangers’ or are they helping police to arrest them?

Awesome if true. Checked it with a lawyer?
Imo the only way cops will be kept in check is if they are personally accountable.

"What do Oath Keepers have in common with Marxist-Commie Black supremacists?" These are not they. These are actual residents, not out-of-town agitators bussed in by George Soros.

It is indeed. I’ve used it here in IL before we had CCW.
It works.

Black is white. And white is black.
Or so the article says.

Good move. Time to put police on notice that all citizens have rights and those nights include being armed. Maybe the police will be a little less trigger happy if they know the citizenry are armed.

This could get interesting, or it could fizzle out. I’m leaning fizzle.

You do realize that the local/state police are literally the last line of defense for us “Freedom Loving” Americans?
Why are you wanting to put them on notice?
Sharpton agrees with your post actually since he wants a full National Police Force.

My problem is that the police want to bully people, and as evidenced here and elsewhere, do not respect rights. That "last line of defense" just disarmed everyone and stands by or doesn't even show up. Is THAT what you want?
And what does respect for the 2nd amendment rights of citizens have to do with Sharpton and Obama's National Police Force?!
