ABC News ^ | BIRCH RUN, Mich. — Aug 12, 2015, 8:25 AM ET | By JOHN SANTUCCI via Good Morning America

Presidential candidate Donald Trump continued his tough talk in a speech Tuesday evening to over 2,500 supporters here. The New York real estate mogul discussed the news that China had devalued its currency, the result of which, he said, is to "suck the blood out of the United States.”

Trump told the crowd his friend and businessman Carl Icahn, whom he called a “brilliant negotiator," is ready to jump in to trade negotiations with China and Japan.

Nobody else is speaking up, except Donald Trump.

Keep on saying this Donald. America is currently running a massive trade deficit with China, which now exports more than America.

94 million Americans don't work.

And only Trump is saying a single word. Everyone else is completely sold out.

I have to disagree with the Donald on this one.

China didn’t do anything our leaders and ‘elites’ didn’t let them do.

On purpose it would seem.

China just took advantage of our leader class who have ‘make America weak’ on their to-do list. And have gotten very wealthy doing just that.

Oh I completely agree.

Our side is absent, we need to get Donald in on our side however, because everyone else is sold out to China.

Everyone.

You said you disagreed with what Trump said. And then you expressed exactly the same opinion he did.

His solution is to hire trade negotiators who will get deals that benefit US citizens.

One small correction...China didn’t suck it out, we willingly shipped it over.

After Trump’s interview with Hannity last night where Trump excoriated China and our incompetent leaders David Limbaugh, part of the Fox/GOPe panel, began talking about Trump’s lack of “conservative” bonafides and that “free trade” was part of conservativism.

Well, if shipping all our jobs overseas, opening our borders to the Cheap Labor Express, spending billions in foreign aid, and forcing the American people to basically bend over and take it is “conservativism” then count me out too. Screw you, David Limbaugh.

Give ‘em Hell, Don!

The difference is the intent of the US negotiators.

Trump might hire those with the US’s interests in mind.

The ones we have today do NOT have the US’s interests in mind.

China didn’t ‘do’ this to us. ‘We’ did it to ourselves.

I think the disagreement was on how/why it happened.

I agree it was the feckless fools on the Hill who made trade agreements that were not in our best interests.
They gave away the store to make a sale, as it were.

The *only* solution is to renegotiate the trade deals we are operating under.

Either that or go to war with the Chicoms, and I’m sure *no one* wants to do that.

if hairtard does manage to get elected, I pray to God that when he demands that the nuclear launch orders be integrated into his twitter feed, the DoD refuses.

Must disagree, China does not suck the blood out of America. America, by its policy of spend, spend and spend and ever increasing and huge national debt has caused others nations for years follow suit, thinking if the U. S. is doing this that that was the path to follow. Thus this U. S. irresponsible fiscal policy has led not only America to the brink but the entire world.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as free trade, as China’s competitive devaluation just proved. So we are stuck with managed and negotiated deals. That is the best we conservatives can hope for.

And it would help, immensely, if the negotiators for OUR SIDE were actually negotiating for OUR SIDE.

Up to now they haven’t been...

IMF has said that every country was find in weakening their currency, now it not okay for China. Trump does not understand economics China action was to become more transparent they want to join the global world in having the Yuan as a reserve currency/hard currency.

None of which would be possible had our ‘negotiators’ been looking out for OUR interests 15 or 20 years ago.

Yes it was done on purpose. But reading between the lines here, i think Trump plans to kill the Ttp. Notice he mentioned not only china but japan and even vietnam. If he does kill the TTP, he will need shrewd negotiators such as Icahn, other wise, what will he negotiate?

Bingo. Only Trump is speaking out against China proving the career politicians are owned by China. Trump's been saying this for decades about China ripping off the USA and devaluing its currency.

China has been doing this to the USA for 25 years, artificially devaluing their currency so that USA companies cannot compete. So almost everything is now made in China. china stole whole industries from the USA. just one example . the USA invented the PC personal computer and made it in the USA . Now China makes 90% of the PCs in the world. The USA makes 0. This is repeated for thousands of products.

Only Trump has been saying this for long time. and only Trump can fix it. The other politicians don't have a clue and are owned by China anyway

I tried to make it simple to understand. But every time I explain this or China's currency manipulation people get a deer in the headlights look. definitely this is only something that someone that has higher intelligence can comprehend and Trump can , the others have no clue but are corrupt anyway and owned by China

Well we disagree.

There seems to be a big portion of the GOP and a big portion of democrats who are all for selling out American businesses to China.

I completely disagree. American “ownership” of factories in China is by law limited to less than 50%. China owns everything, Americans cannot immigrate there, and yet we contine to sell out to a massive Chinese communist party.

We rack up ever more debt, currently about 19 trillion dollars, and growing (rapidly).

I say we need to be for America.

America.
