Are you one of the low-info people who still cling grimly to the “11 out of 12 balls were under inflated by 2 psi” people?

Still hanging on like the people who thought Alger Hiss was innocent, even in 1994 when the Venona transcripts came out?

Hell, never mind the Venona transcripts, like the people who hung on to the innocence of Alger Hiss even when he wondered aloud under oath how Whittaker Chambers got into his house to use his typewriter.

Those type of people.

I hate cheaters, no matter the team. I’d say the same no matter what the organization.

Both Brady and that no class fat slob of a coach should both be banned for life.

Oh, and wait...like your quarterback who says he likes the balls overinflated?

That is okay, then. Hell, I respect him for even saying that, because he stands up for what he thinks.

Well, you really stated your case well there.

Come on, you can do better than an infantile “because I say so” response.

That is if you have anything beyond a leg of emotion to stand on. Would some reason be too much to ask here?

And by the way, he is a quarterback I greatly respect. I don’t care if he likes the balls at 18 psi, because he had more guts than most quarterbacks who were too chicken to even comment on it.

Except for the retired ones not under the thumb of the NFL.

Just asking...really. Do you feel the same way about Aaron Rogers, or is his admission okay because he plays for your team, or is it just that he hasn’t been “caught” yet?

I would say his admission is far more evidential than anything they tried to even manufacture about Brady.

Sorry Lurker, that post to you (below) was really meant for terycarl:

"Just asking...really. Do you feel the same way about Aaron Rogers, or is his admission okay because he plays for your team, or is it just that he hasn’t been “caught” yet? I would say his admission is far more evidential than anything they tried to even manufacture about Brady."

He said the Packers were his team and terycarl said he hates anyone who cheats no matter what team.

In your case, Lurker, you just don't like the Patriots and I can accept that.

I don't understand terycarl, though...his team has a good record against Belichick coached Patriots. (They have won half the time.) The rest of the league has lost at a much higher clip, which is why most of them want to see Brady screwed...and that is okay. Fans have to be fans, don't they? I like them better, like you, Lurker, when you just say so outright.

Still waiting to hear back from him.

Much of the legwork that goes on legally is behind the scenes. Yes, it's very possible that this article is a bought piece in some shape, size, or form, and there's nothing wrong with that. Tom Brady's lawyer, Jeffrey Kessler, did not get the reputation that he has for leaving any stone unturned.

I did read it and agree with it. But my point still stands. It's just how things work when trying to influence the public mindset. And one of Kessler’s primary goals is restoring Brady's reputation regardless of what the final decision is. You don't have to get all indignant just because I expressed an opinion.

Not a bad writeup.

In watching this closely, there is a VERY close parallel between the vitriolic viewpoints of these people some on this thread and on FR) who spout crap like “suspend Belichick and Brady for Life”, and the damage caused to our country by the liberal media and their willing dupes in our country who follow, accept, and parrot their pronouncements.

The media has a major role in both sides of the analogy, which isn’t surprising to me.

****************************************************************************

On one side of the analogy, In the liberal’s destruction of much that is good and valuable in our country, there are three major components:

1.) Liberals of all stripes in and out of government creating perception using Alinskyite tactics to convey a viewpoint or solution to a specific problem or issue, usually rooted in hate or envy, and serving the ideological needs of liberalism whether right, wrong, or manufactured. The tactics are the same, the tone is the same, and the audience is the same.

2.) An enthusiastically willing media that serves as a mouthpiece, disseminating these views, trumpeting that there is an issue where it may be existing or manufactured as suits their need.

3.) A willing army in the general population of enthusiastically under-informed or mal-informed people and entities, who participate in three ways: First, they accept uncritically the vile emanations from the liberal originators and their media mouthpieces. Secondly, they parrot those viewpoints verbatim and either embellish them with further lies or project them to others as established fact, creating a base of “established truth. And they key point is: since they are ideologically based, they never engage in any inward reflection to examine or re-examine their views formed by this process. They are, as a result, the perfect dupes for what Rush Limbaugh accurately terms “The Drive-By Media. Because of their own hate, jealousy, and envy, they simply act as amplifiers and recirculators of erroneous or outright deliberately slanderous information. And when new information is given (and almost never is, except when the liberals and their mouthpieces are placed under duress) the drones who parrot the information never, ever re-examine the information, and stay frozen in their beliefs. If they do look at new information, they rationalize, often using pretzel logic, to try to stay consistent. When they don’t need to stay consistent, they don’t rationalize, and look at every change as if it were something completely and totally new under the sun. When those fail, or they are uninterested, they simply forget about it as if it never happened. All of this is in complete harmony with a liberal mindset.

****************************************************************************

On the other side of this analogy is the NFL and its attempted character assassination of the New England Patriots and Tom Brady, and the similarities are striking.

1.) Football people of all stripes in and out of the league creating perception using Alinskyite tactics to convey a viewpoint or solution to a specific problem or issue, usually rooted in hate or envy, and serving the ideological needs of liberalism whether right, wrong, or manufactured. The tactics are the same, the tone is the same, and the audience is the same.

2.) An enthusiastically willing media that serves as a mouthpiece, disseminating these views, trumpeting that there is an issue where it may be existing or manufactured as suits their need. Many of these people have a vested interest in defaming or minimizing the accomplishments the Patriots, both professionally and personally.

3.) A willing army in the general population of enthusiastically under-informed or mal-informed football fans and other entities, who participate in three ways: First, they accept uncritically the vile emanations from the NFL league, other detractors around the league (such as managers, clubs, and players) and their media mouthpieces. Secondly, they parrot those viewpoints verbatim and either embellish them with further lies or project them to others as established fact, creating a base of “established truth. And they key point is: since they are emotionally fan based in so many ways (think: Ideological) they never engage in any inward reflection to examine or re-examine their views formed by this process. They are, as a result, the perfect dupes for what Rush Limbaugh accurately terms “The Drive-By Media. Because of their own hate, jealousy, and envy emotionally play an even bigger part in sports, they simply act as amplifiers and recirculators of erroneous or outright deliberately slanderous information. And when new information is given (and almost never is, except when the league and the other entities and their mouthpieces are placed under duress) the fan-drones who parrot the information never, ever re-examine the information, and stay frozen in their beliefs. If they do look at new information, they rationalize, often using pretzel logic, to try to stay consistent. When they don’t need to stay consistent or it is impossible to do so, they don’t rationalize, and look at every change as if it were something completely and totally new under the sun. When those things fail, or they are uninterested or confronted, they simply forget about it as if it never happened. All of this is in complete harmony with a NFL fan mindset.

The thing I have not said in this comparison is that, in both cases, there are the exceptions: People in all three categories on both side of the analogy who do not participate.

In the liberal (Political) side of the analogy, there are conservatives and conscientious people of all types, sometimes spanning political ideologies, who do not participate because they can see the truth, and there are ideological cases who simply won’t change regardless. They exist in conservatism, too, but if you are a conservative to begin with, you have usually (but not always examined the fundamental premises, so your foundation is stronger and more consistent to begin with.

In the NFL football (”Smear The New England Patriots and Tom Brady) side of the analogy, there are the people being defamed and those associated with them, and conscientious people of all types, sometimes spanning the spectrum of NFL allegiances and media associations, who do not participate because they can see the truth, and there are fan-based cases who simply won’t change regardless. They exist in NFL fan base in New England, too, but if you are a Patriots fan to begin with, you have usually (but not always) examined the fundamental premises of the allegations, so your foundation is stronger and more consistent to begin with because you have more exposure to the fountain of information, being in an outlet area that disseminates them.

****************************************************************************

I see these two sides of the analogy as being a perfect explanation for the types of posters we see on the internet, media, and here on Free Republic.

A bought piece does not mean it does or doesn’t have validity, it is in the implementation and expression.

I am getting indignant and angry even if you didn’t deserve it, because based on the post right above this one, I see this as another basic example of the template being used to turn everything to crap in this country, including The New England Patriots and Tom Brady.

I feel the same way about anyone who cheats and then covers it up. That goes for both Hillary and Rogers.

Who, apparently, are two peas in a pod.

That’s because you’re in favor of cheating when it suits your purposes. I’m not in favor of it except in combat.

No. I am in favor of looking at the facts.

You are in favor of being deliberately as uninformed as possible.

You are one of the low information types who gulp in anything that is put forth by the likes of ESPN and CBS because it suits YOUR purposes.

You can’t even look in a mirror and be truthful with yourself.

I understand, and I am pulling the trigger quick, sorry you got in the way.

I am simply sick of this garbage, and have decided to go toe-to-toe at any time, with any of the low information types on this subject. Most of them are too much of pussies to engage, and the ones that do, aren’t doing anything more than saying “I hate all cheaters” which is as egregious to me.

If they say they follow some other team and hate the Patriots or Tom Brady because they win all the time, I am willing to accept that degree of honesty and get it.

Not the pukes who want to piously moan about “cheaters” and “the integrity of the game”, they are just worthless, dishonest losers, and I am going to just go at it as long as they are willing to do so.
