quick, efficient urban renewal
A big orange circle?
A good start?
Have you been there? Thanks for this great post. Not. I happen to love Detroit. How about we bomb your city? Detroit has some of the most beautiful architecture in the country and a huge millionaire residential area ten minutes from downtown.
There’s an interesting video about what Washington DC would look like after such an attack
Like this?
Whoa now. Don't get 'em all bunched up here. You want to take exception to this article? Fine. Then rant all you want to at the Detroit Free Press.
They're the ones who posted this "great post" for us all to enjoy.
There would be an immediate decrease of muggings and drive-by-shootings..........
It would cause millions of dollars worth of improvements.
LOL!!
It’s those pictures that haunt me.
I wanted to tour New Orleans post-Katrina. Never did it. Still want to go to San FranSICKO to gawk at the freak show with their perversity and all that on the open street.
And go to Detroit - daylight hours only - and see the results of decades of democratic rule.
I’m macabre that way.
I have to go to the area for business next week. Fortunately, Southgate is out of the danger zone.
You could consider it urban renewal?
Actually, the bomb didn’t “hit” Hiroshima. It was an air burst, detonating some 1,900 feet above the city.
It created a blast equivalent to 16 kilotons of TNT. The weapon was considered very inefficient, with only 1.7% of its material fissioning. The radius of total destruction was about 1 mile (1.6 km), with resulting fires across 4.4 square miles (11 km2).
The land area of Detroit is 138.75 square miles.
Urban renewal!
Has anyone taken the time to notice what today’s date is in reference to Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
Timing is everything.
“What would it look like if Hiroshima bomb hit Detroit?”
A lot better.
It’d cause $10.6 Billion in improvements.
