If Ballmer is truely retired, M$ may begin to provide value with new releases.
Users can bypass the ‘notice’ and go straight to the MS webpage to download the 32-bit or 64-bit installation part. It is about 18Mb.

@Mass55th No I believe it was more of a logistics thing they didn’t want all eligible people downloading at once, I was in no hurry in any case so didn’t mind.

I tried it and wasn’t the least bit impressed. I restored my Clonezilla backup image of Windows 7.
It won’t do anything until it gathers all the available data about you from your computer and uploads it for future reference to “better serve you”....
