Excellent video and narration.
Needless to say Sean has an amazing g-tolerance. I suppose it’s all the practice and his fitness level that he would credit for his performance. He gets the entry parameters just right (airspeed, altitude, power setting, etc.) then goes through the mechanics of each maneuver almost instinctively, without really having to “think” other than subconsciously from one moment to the next. Each violent maneuver is burned into his subconscious by practice and repetition, and later recalled from the subconscious map in his head. In between the most violent maneuvers he mixes it up with something else less strenuous, to clear his head. It has to be that way, to be safe.
Yes, she was my instructor at Estrella in the 80s. She was tough!
Neg G's are a valid tactic when on defense during BFM and other times.
We do neg-Gs for a reason, not just. . .well. . .because.
Flopping around is done all the time. . you fly the jet to the edge of then envelope, and because of that sometimes you exceed the envelope, and sometimes this means departing controlled flight. . and then you use your skill to save the jet and yourself. Basically, you become quite comfortable in the jet under all conditions and phases of flight/non-flight. Inverted spins, been there. Snap-rolls. . .done that. Zooming and backsliding down “in reverse” been there, too.
Cheers.
Oh, and with DEEC and such, old flight limitations on jet engines are gone and no longer apply.
"That guy" (Sean Tucker to the rest of us) has 21,000 hours and is one of the best aerobatic pilots in the world, if not the best.
And that just makes your remarks asinine.
Your ego is writing checks your body can't cash.
Well, you are right. You convinced me. I will join with you and stand in awe of some guy as he flops around the sky at a speed that I match when I taxi.
He is good at what he does but what he does, does not impress those that do that sort of stuff all the time.
“Your ego is writing checks your body can’t cash.”
*Snicker. . .Top Gun. . .you do know its a movie. . .right. . .snicker*

Cheers and good bye.
You’re more over-the-top with each post! Your ego absolutely knows no bounds!
Which is why the Top Gun phrase I quoted came to mind — SNL did an awesome parody of the self-obsessed personality that best matches you — “Iceman, the Later Years”.

Your self-absorbed attitude and colossal ego won’t even allow you to acknowledge the man who may be the world’s best aerobatic pilot, other than in a backhanded, insincere way. I might write it off to youthful immaturity, but I don’t think you have that excuse. Your constant insistence on comparing his skills to whatever an “average military pilot” does in a military jet does is silly, and that’s putting it charitably. Not to mention the inane comparison of military jet vs. recip biplane aerobatics.
Sean Tucker is one of the all-time GREAT aerobatic pilots — and Bob Hoover is impressed enough to believe that too.
Cheers, Ted.
So says a guy that doesn’t fly, has no clue about that world, is impressed beyond reason like a little kid but has no idea why other than “it looks cool.”
*Yawn*
Obviously you care what I think, thank you very much.
If you did not care what I think you would not be so democrat. . .er. . .emotional in your posts.
Since I don’t know you and do not care what you feel, your snide remarks are simply amusing.
Post 26.
If you post to me again on this thread, Post 26 is my reply. . .repeat as necessary.
So you choice is clear: a) reply because your fragile juvenile ego demands it, or b) act like an adult and let it go.
I’m betting you cave and opt for “a”
Prove me wrong.
I do care that you polluted this thread with ceaseless egomaniacal boasting about your own and others’ “average fighter pilot” skills in an abusive, misleading way on a thread dedicated to the recognition of a champion aerobatic pilot.
But no, it’s not about you, and never was (nor about me). It’s about the offensive remarks you made — a completely unforced error you made because of your unbounded narcissism.
It’s about your hijack of the thread for the transparent (though likely subconscious) purpose of calling attention to yourself. Do you not realize what dishonor you bring to your own?
I called you out on it, and you doubled down. I expected that. You deserved the humiliation.
I’ll post whenever I want, so just deal with it.
