I believe Boston lost its snow on July 14. We’re a coastal city, with the Gulf Stream rolling past, bringing warm water up from the Carribbean — I guess that’s why our snow didn’t last as long as Buffalo’s.

Yeah....but did Buffalo have any dead dogs, bodies, mail boxes in their snow piles?
If they didn’t...then Boston wins!

Crap sake, why not dump it into Lake Erie.

Crap sake, why not dump it into Lake Erie? Are you nuts? Dump it in the lake? All that snow melts, and both Buffalo and Cleveland could wind up under water. Those people at Public Works aren't stupid, you know...

And there’s grass growing on top of that snow pile. What a hoot.

What are the chances it will last until the first snow starts this fall? That is, “wrap around” to the next winter a-la the permanent snow pack in the Rockies? :-)

August 14th is the first day of Buffalo’s summer; August 16th is the last day!

My late uncle served in the Coast Guard.
He was stationed in Buffalo.
He HATED Buffalo.
Never quit snowing.
Ice breaking duty.
Rescuing idiots who were trying to walk to Canada.
His friends had nice duty stations like
Miami, San Diego and Honolulu.
He put in for a transfer.
Eventually he got it.
They sent him to Duluth, Minnesota.
It was the sort of thing that could only happen to him.

When I was a kid we attended a family reunion in a small town near Buffalo.
It was in late July. The overnight low was 38 F.

Is that GRASS growing on top of the dirty snow pile?

I was born in Buffalo and I know for a fact they only have two seasons, Winter and Fourth of July.
