forgot to mention classic shell is free and easy to install.
Thanks, I’ll save this post for later. I’ll be glad to get rid of 8.1 but I think I’ll let 10 soak in with the general public for a while first.
Why would you need “classic shell”? I don’t get it.
I should have said that most people won’t need to manually update their video driver. I have an odd-bird CPU that doesn’t have integrated graphics so maybe that’s why I needed to.
You don’t need classic shell, it’s just my biased opinion that many would prefer it. But then again maybe people would adapt and learn to like the new start menu.
In any case classic shell is a 30 second free install, and even quicker uninstall.
The great news is that this version of Windows finally clears up earlier issues we all struggled to overcome:
1. No ongoing danger from viruses
2. No ongoing danger from malware
3. No ongoing danger form flash-eating memory bacteria
4. No need to reinstall drivers regularly
5. No more constant need to act as an unpaid MS tech employee to keep your Windows 10 system running.
There is much excitement and rejoicing today online!
Discussions are breaking out about how people will now use their Windows 10 “cold war” time surplus!
Please install and then join the discussions.
I suppose MS supplying an *.iso file is asking too much.
LOL, ok not really. Win score is 8.1 and had to run it though a shell.
I personally hated windows 8, thought win 8.1 was tolerable with start 8 installed, but I like windows 10 so far. It’s a lot faster on my system than 7
Ok, let’s discuss spoofery. What file do I need to download on my Win 95 machine to get the free upgrade? :-) Oh ok, I’ll check out bittorrent.
Thanks for the report. I’ll probably wait a few days to do this. I have 3 partitions one WinXP, one Windows 7 and the third already running Windows 10 pre release.
Updated this morning and generally OK. I was having driver problems and opted for a reinstall, but I will have to reinstall some applications. If I were to do this again I would backup my files and do a clean install. However, I am growing to like Windows 10
Thank you. Using it now to download on a Win 7 machine. Already did an upgrade to an 8.1 machine this a.m.
Now I have to click each page to see what's on it instead of seeing the preview.
This is a Huge time sink.
Any idea how to get this function back without trashing win-10 back to Win-7?
Better get a system image backup before installing. So far my venue 11 failed the upgrade. I had no network adapters despite them being installed in device manager.
I’m trying to upgrade my gaming system tonight. Hope it turns out better than the venue. I couldn’t even activate windows so I could clean install.
