I’ve always thought that, when voting for POTUS in the primary, the voters should know who the VPOTUS is going to be.

Trump literally "wrote the book" on The Art of the Deal, and it seems clear that's exactly how he's approaching his campaign. He's in the process of "selling" himself to the American people, and so far the "professionals" are looking pretty amateurish by comparison.

Now I agree with that in so many ways...but I caution you...the "art of the deal" is about a whole lot of cronyism and greasing the skids of government power. It's an incredible business self help book and bio, but it's very disturbing from the standpoint of the politics of limited government.

Yes, but Presidents are in fact "sold" to the electorate, so, and much of the power of the presidency is the "bully pulpit" to sell legislative ideas to people as well. So from that perspective, someone who really knows how to sell himself and his ideas has a leg up on his competition.

All truly effective presidents are in fact effective salesmen.

I totally agree with that, and one of the main themes in my book (see tagline) is that Bush (with Rove’s guidance) totally abandoned the bully pulpit.

Strength in one area does NOT preclude weakness or problems in other areas.

I love the cabinet idea, and on the VP - that choice could well come from the others running currently.....so I would not use that accept as a hail Mary....
