Ethical food does not matter to most Britons, a survey has revealed, showing that half of people say they do not care where their food comes from.

Almost half of people (48 percent) surveyed said they would not necessarily stop buying products from a company if they discovered it was acting unethically, when surveyed by consumer research company Mintel.

Of the 15,000 UK shoppers who were questioned, only a quarter (24 percent) said that the range of ethical products on offer influenced which shops they visited.

More than half of UK consumers say that organic food is too expensive to buy regularly. …

More neologisms where the press assumes people know what is meant. So-called “ethical” food is either “organic”, “fair trade” (supposedly against sweatshop conditions and “environmental” damage) and “local” food.

The ones who care just want to make sure it’s halal.

Don’t forget “free range”, “vegan” and “GMO”. And even how an animal was killed, but questioning that minght get your throat slit rather than the goat’s.

That generally means meat slaughtered in Allah’s name, and without stunning.

I wouldn’t be shocked in 52% of the people consider halal to fall under the umbrella of “ethical”. Surveys are sometimes skewed by the fact that people provide answers which depend upon misunderstanding of vocabulary.

In my experience as a UK shopper most people have far more important things to worry about than the source of food, how to pay for it probably being the main one.

When I see any of those “slogans” on a package , I put the product back on the shelf.

It’s not that I like sweatshops or environmental damage, I just hate leftist, manipulative “NEWSPEAK”.

I love to ask “locavores” if they use salt and pepper and if so, where did it come from.

What the hell is ethical food? Is that where you pet your chicken before you lop his head off?

Bad and good news.

The bad news is the green scam has priced beef out of the range of the ordinary Briton.

The good news is they can’t ruin it any more.
