We have one of these right here in our fair city. Small parking area, line up outside at the one window, one person works the grill while one other handles the cash and the ice cream. Only open in the summer.

That is only true because she told him he could have it “your way”!

I forgot to mention that the Litherland’s are purported to be the inventors of the Dilly Bar, at this store. Not universally accepted, but I remember getting Dilly Bars as a 6-7 year old when my folks would take me to the DQ That would have been ~60 years ago. (Geez!)

At the DQ I go to sometimes, they have a bunch of pictures of past Dairy Queens, those are fun, just look up Old or Vintage Dairy Queen photos on your search engine.

Here is a “cool” one from some DQ on a Wilkinson Boulevard, wherever that is; I will just post the link: http://slog.thestranger.com/files/2008/02/DairyQueen2.jpg

“Brain freeze” bump. Yes, I remember those days. This was back when A&W served real root beer, too.

Chick-fil-A is special, because of their extraordinary hiring practices and personnel management. Their employees look genuinely happy.

The owner became fed up with the parent company’s edicts so he changed the name to Dairy Cream and went on to make a fortune...

There's probably a similar story behind the Dairy Keen in Heber, Utah.

Used to be one here in the Carrick neighborhood of Pittsburgh (where Dick Morris’ toe sucking babe came from).

A couple of years ago some sooooooper genius held up the place. It was in the middle of February, so they only had about 20 bucks in the register. He lived right around the corner. They followed his footprints in the snow right to his front door. He is now doing a long stretch in the Federal slam for armed robbery.

The DQ has since closed, and is for sale.
