Report On Trump's July 11 2015 Speech In Phoenix Posted by Jeff Dover on July 12, 2015 at 11:39am
My wife and I attended Donald Trumps speech held in Phoenix on Sat. We had tickets and it still took an hour and twenty minutes standing in line to gain entrance. According to the Sunday Arizona Republic, the line to get in was over half a mile long at one point. I dont doubt that. However, I do doubt their tally.
I have a commercial real estate background. I estimated the square footage of the room we were in to be about 90,000 sq. ft. It turns out that it was about 84,000 sq. ft. I estimated that (we were all standing) each of us had about 5 sq. ft. of space and the room was 80% full. That would be a crowd of 13,440 people. Trumps press release said there were in excess of 15,000, but that probably counted the many outside who wanted to get it but couldnt as the speech had begun. The local tv news and newspaper claimed that the crowd was only approximately 4000! Complete baloney. Furthermore, Trumps people had the advance ticket tallies. Those tallies didnt go to the press, unless passed along by Trump. So, as usual, the press were lying. I was interviewed by a channel 12 (NBC) guy as I left. He was clearly depressed at the answers I gave to his line of questioning, obviously looking for dissent. In fact, my wife asked him if he was only interested in interviewing people who opposed Trump! He declined comment.
There were the usual moldy leftovers from the 1960s protesting outside. Same crap, different ridiculous charges and positions. They looked like scumbags. Inside, a small number, perhaps five or six had some banner and started yelling. It lasted for only a couple of minutes, but the press pushed people aside to go talk with them! Dirtbags in suits with cameras. Trump suggested that Mexico must have paid them to show up.
Dont believe the numbers that the press tells you about attendance. It was huge. The AZ Republic did go so far as to say that it was the biggest turnout for any 2016 presidential candidate to date. The enthusiasm inside was terrific. Whatever you may think of Donald Trump, he definitely connects. However, extreme caution is advised when reading reports in the media about him as he is opposed by both Democrat and GOP Establishment power. In fact during his talk, he pointed out the many absurdities of recent press about him, not the least of which was that NBC didn't drop him from Celebrity Apprentice, he dropped them. Highly profitable for the network and having failed with other attempts, NBC according to Trump, begged him to continue, with both Comcast (they own NBC) and NBC heads urging him on. However, due to "equal time" election regulations, as a practical matter, he couldn't run and appear in the show too. So he declined.
Inside or out the numbers in favor vastly outnumbered the few who opposed. When John McCains name was mentioned, the boos were deafening. I thought that we were perhaps witnessing a sea change in American politics, or at least the opening ripples.
Yeah it equaled a good size army division.
Thanks for the insight! Wish I could have been there...
I have a commercial real estate background too!
I’ll bet it was a great experience. Maybe we’ll get a chance yet.
Thanks for the report.
Wouldn’t there have been a maximum number of people who were allowed in the hall? The number set by the Fire Marshall?
There usually is some sort of plaque with that information near the entrance of the hall, IIRC.
If Trump is connecting with people in this way, we are witnessing history. A wave is brewing. If Sarah Palin were his running mate, we would see a tsunami. I am hoping what he said about Sarah will give her a serious look.
LOL! TDS has some real symptoms from the looks of this bunch!
I’m sure they set a maximum capacity. It had to be a really exciting event. Would have loved to escort those disruptors out. Trump, “Don’t worry, We’re taking our country back!” Just Cool!
Headcrabs...
I saw a video of the entire event.
I was not sure what was on the banner, but attendees along side grabbed it and presumably ejected it and its holders. Judging from that view, it appeared like many people standing for a better view, more dense than 5 square feet per person. The 14 K estimate was closer than 4 K.
All the Leftists will support and cover it up--politicians, the press, academics, the judiciary including the Supreme Court, all who support sanctuary cities. They are all corrupt, and nothing is beneath them--certainly not voter fraud.
But, this schtick will no sustain itself and he is going to have to start talking about plans and strategies instead of what is wrong.
He's a business man, so he should have no trouble developing and sharing his plan for America - something Barack didn't do and Hillary can't. If he isn't sure how to articulate a plan of action addressing the major issues, he should watch Carly Fiorina who is doing a very good job of it.
I have a question. Was the security what it's going to need to be at these large crowds Trump will continue to attract?
Trump actually mentioned that the place did go beyond the legal capacity....which isn’t all that unusual for a large gathering.
However, All the photos I saw before during and after I’d have to agree it was a huge crowd and one I have not seen with other candidates. So they were right pretty much about the numbers give or take. The fact is the guy pulled them in...IMO even Trump was surprised.
Tell Trump isn’t using a fork on that pizza!
Looks like Palin has a can of ObamaCola...
This was the experience of the guy who wrote the account. If you follow the link, I believe you can register and contact him directly through Tea Party Nation. Thanks.
Add in the ones who could not get in, the “Live” web streaming on YouTube
and ABC15 and you have some major numbers.
You Tube had almost 15,000 watching live.
