I know stupid, but my first movie.
My love scene with Tao really is to be experienced. Sure to be nominated for Best Extra in an Action Film.
Well, have to get my arrangement for Cannes set.
Watch for it, March 25, 2016
Congratulations.
Wow, this looks really. ... stupid.
Congrats on your oscar worthy performance, haha.
Movie looks lame, though.
What are you doing in the movie?
When your Batman, or Superman, franchise gets to the “Batman v. Superman” point ... It’s over.
I’ve been skeptical about this movie; I wasn’t a huge fan of Man of Steel (great beginning, fell apart in the middle act). Also not crazy about Ben Affleck as Batman or the eventual inclusion of the Justice League (with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman).
But I’ve got to admit, that trailer is making me rethink everything...looks pretty cool! What I liked:
-Bruce Wayne running headfirst into debris to save people: Awesome!
-Superman actually SAVING PEOPLE! Was totally missing from Man of Steel: Awesome!
-Didn’t like casting of Jesse Eisenberg, but he actually makes for a really creepy Lex Luthor, at least in the trailer.
-References to the Joker somehow being involved in everything.
-Batman and Superman FIGHTING...looks awesome!
-Jeremy Irons as Alfred, trying to convince Wayne that Superman isn’t the villain.
Still not sure about Gal Gadot...doesn’t look the part of Wonder Woman at all.
I will remain cautiously optimistic...Man of Steel trailers looked awesome, too, and what a letdown that movie was! Never underestimate Hollywood’s ability to mess something up.
Not necessarily, they’ve been trying to make a “Batman vs Superman” movie since the late 90s. This one has been a long time coming.
Unfortunately, I think The Avengers has changed the landscape of the superhero movie genre...audiences are going to be no longer content with solo franchises. The demand for team-up/crossover movies is only going to grow, so WB more or less HAS to push Batman vs. Superman, leading up to a Justice League series.
That’s the world we live in...personally, I think The Avengers was both the greatest and worst thing to happen to comic book movies. Marvel’s doing a fantastic job at this, but they’re also slowly killing the genre...eventually it will all run out of steam...
sigh....
This makes no sense. Why would two do gooders even fight? And how does a mortal fight a powerful alien such as superman? Oh well, guess I’m not into the books enough to know this stuff.
I know DC’s aiming for a Justice League franchise, but I also remember how the once-sizzling-hot Batman franchise petered out in the ‘90s ... Later to be brilliantly resurrected in the new century. I think we’re again at the “petering-out” point of the new run. If I were in charge of things, I’d wait a year or two and launch my Justice League series, but with completely unknown actors, and make instant stars out of them ...
Obama superlib Affleck as Batman, one has to hope it fails.
That would be two in a row for Benny Boy after Jennifer Garner dumps him. She is still seriously HOT.
Gal Gadot, is lean and mean version of a superwoman. Got a mean and hungry look vs. the Softick look we are used to.
The guy who plays Superman looks like they aren’t giving him anything but a wooden personality.
Worst yet Benny boy is the director, Yucks.
Well obviously, that is the central question, but the trailer answered it.
Bruce Wayne was there at the end of Man of Steel when Superman’s fight with General Zod more or less destroyed Metropolis. One of the buildings destroyed was his (his running headfirst into the cloud of debris to save people). As a result, Batman doesn’t think Superman can be trusted and decides he needs to put a stop to this all-powerful alien before he destroys humanity. The villains in the movie (Lex Luthor and the Joker) will also probably be encouraging the fight to happen.
But eventually, Batman and Superman will realize they are on the same side and will learn to stand together by the end of the movie, leading up to the Justice League movie (why Wonder Woman has a small part in the movie).
As to how Batman can defeat Superman in hand-to-hand combat, the answer is simple: kryptonite! Once he gets into possession of some, Superman is weakened until it becomes a fair fight.
It’s happened in the comic books before; this movie looks like a mixture of “The Death of Superman” and “The Dark Knight Returns.” But again, I’ve been disappointed by bad Superman movies that had great trailers before, so I’m trying not to get too excited...
I agree they should have done it differently. I personally wanted to see a few traditional Man of Steel sequels first (ones that would finally get Superman RIGHT) before seeing any other characters brought into the mix.
But it is what it is. Like I said, blame Marvel. You can’t turn the dial up to an 11 (Avengers) and then back down to a 7 again (solo movies), and then expect audiences to still show up.
If Batman/Superman is a hit, we’re going to start seeing a LOT of team-up crossover movies in the coming years...
I’m telling you though ... Wait a couple of years and spring a Justice League on America, with all fresh faces. You’ll see a star-maker that would eclipse “American Graffiti” and “Star Wars” both.
It almost happened; in 2007 George Miller began production on a Justice League movie. It was going to have an all new cast of complete unknowns. They got so far as having the entire movie cast, were in location and had all the costumes designed, before Warner Bros suddenly pulled the plug and the movie was canceled.
It would have been interesting to see what we would have gotten, but we did end up with Mad Max: Fury Road instead. So it didn’t turn out all bad.
Plus, Clark is such a swell guy he doesn’t just throw a building or heat vision Bruce from 10 miles away. Bruce is free to fight dirty.
Freegards
Actually, one of the greatest Batman stories ever told is Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, by Frank Miller. There is an epic Batman vs Superman fight in that comic for many of the right reasons.
(I say “many” because there is also a severe anti-Reagan thread there that is downright ludicrous, but - it’s a comic - so I just pretend it’s a really villainous president like Obama.)
Yeah, it’s not a popular opinion but Bruce Wayne is smarter than Superman. He’s a multi-billionaire with an entire Lockheed Martin like company at his disposal. I would guess he’s done his homework on Supes.
Yeah, that was a terrific series. It was politically-slanted, as you say, but amazingly engrossing.
I get the feeling the upcoming movie won’t exactly be cerebral.
