SARASOTA, Fla. -- A Suncoast woman is now telling us at least one thing she says Jared Fogle said numerous times during interactions with her.

The woman, who asked us not to identify her, says she spoke with Fogle numerous times starting about 10 years ago. Fogle would often travel to the area to participate in events like the American Heart Association Walk.

The woman, who is a former journalist, tells us Fogle often made surprising and inappropriate remarks while the two were speaking.

"He said something to me when we were off camera and that really stuck with me. I thought to myself, 'did he really say that to me?'"

According to the woman, Jared would often visit schools in Sarasota County, and allegedly told her numerous times that, "Middle school girls are hot."

The woman accused Jared of making even more inappropriate comments, but she won't go into much more detail.

Something weird is going on. He did more than just say “middle school girls are hot” I’m sure of that. Why just this is being reported I don’t know. The FBI was searching his house for child porn. They don’t come in unless they are sure of something.

Sounds like Jared got a little power from Subway and it went to his head.

Cool, we’ve not had a good witch hunt in this country in a long time. Think I’ll wait until some charges are filled.

Saw this earlier today. Apparently this woman saying she heard Fogle say something is the whole basis of this potentially career-ending “scandal.”

You used to have to, you know, commit a crime or something before the police raided your house.

From what I have read, Jarod is not being investigated at this point. It’s all about his friend.

I don’t know where this will go, but that is where it is right now.

No investigation or trial required. He is already convicted and ruined.

It definitely does not look good. The FBI conducted the raid with a search warrant, meaning they had enough specific information to convince a judge to sign off on it.

Now, that doesn’t mean Jared Fogle is guilty of anything, of course. Presumption of innocence still applies. It does likely mean, though (legal FReepers, feel free to correct me if I’ve got this wrong) that Fogle is the central focus of the raid/investigation, rather than just him being a bystander being checked out to see if there’s any info on his computer that might help their case against, say, the former Jared Foundation chair (who has been arrested for child pornography).

Either way, I think Subway is going to cut bait. If Fogle is arrested, it will be immediate. If he’s exonerated, Subway will probably try to ease him out of the picture a bit more gingerly.

“He is already convicted and ruined.”

His career as a Subway spokesman is definitely over. Subway has handled it carefully, using the word “suspend” rather than “terminate”, etc. to give themselves breathing room. I would be very, very surprised, however, if they aren’t already working on plans for a “post-Jared” era in their marketing and ad campaigns. The only question will be how soon and how forcefully they axe him.

At first I completely gave Jared a pass; it seemed they were investigating his employee, not him. Then when I found out he had rented porn in college, I mean loaned, as in his dorm room was a porn library and Jarod made the $ renting it, I still thought - well, enterprising guy, not child porn... But not looking great.

Now, clearly the FBI doesn’t raid a home of someone who says middle school girls are hot. Clearly he said something that implied he took part in some kind of porn of underaged girls or even led this woman to believe he might be harming underaged girls.

Please remember that middle school starts in grade 6. Some girls are barely 11. Some have child bodies still, and some are developed. It is not a “hot” age. It is a very innocent age, an insecure age, where girls are just barely stepping out of childhood and trying to seem more grown up, BUT ARE NOT. It’s pedophilia to be sexually excited by that age child.

However, as long as Subway gets Jared’s footlong out of the picture, I don’t blame them for this. They had no way of knowing. It would be like blaming jello for Bill Cosby’s rapes. I don’t eat there but my kids like their sandwiches. I do remember one local subway had a life sized cardboard Jarod in their store holding up his giant cardboard fat pants. He could have hidden about four 12 year old girls in those old pants.

Hmmmm. 10 year secondhand information from an anonymous source. Where have we heard that before. Anyone know Fogle’s political affiliation?

I’ll wait for facts before I go with this information.

Paula Deen, the one Jesse Jackson defended and who is friends of Michelle and Barack? You would actually defend her.

His computer or network server is the likely target, not necessarily him.

A man might say that to another man, but to say it to a woman seems highly unlikely.

I don’t know if he is guilty, but I disagree with your comment that they don’t come in unless there is something. Have you followed what was going on in Wisconsin, for example? There are plenty of abuses.
