Does anyone use Reddit? What exactly is it and what makes it valuable as an entity?
Reddit is a collection of online discussion forums. They have one thing I wish FR had: the ability to “upvote” or “downvote” posts.
“Use” is an odd term for reddit. It has its place for some very specific sub-reddits. There are also some funny threads. Some of the users are very clever.
That said, for the most part it’s like a world wide collectivist “Lord of the Flies” shit show. And anyone over the age of 17 is the character, “Fatty.”
Reddit is just a large forum for a multitude of different interests, organized into their own sub forums, called subReddits. FR has some similarities in the posting of new stories, commentary abt those stories, and communities of shared beliefs. There are groups there for everything under the sun.
It’s a big discussion site, but outspoken conservatives have a short shelf life. Mostly younger people.
It’s pretty good for determining the current pulse of what people are talking about. I used to enjoy pulling leftists’ tails there, but looking for an intelligent debate will often leave you wanting.
160 million users on countless forums for countless genres.
