It was reported that ESPN’s lackluster upcoming slate of Monday Night games was believed to be retribution for Bill Simmons and Olbermann’s criticism of the league and Goodell. To that end, we’re hearing there are some ESPN folks who think the league denied a request for a Monday Night Football matchup featuring the Cowboys against a specific opponent due to Simmons and Olbermann’s vocal criticism this past year. ESPN does have one Cowboys game on this year’s schedule but comes late in the season and on the road versus a Redskins team that went 4-12 last season.

Week 1: Eagles at Falcons, Vikings at 49ers (I would watch both of those games, even if it weren’t opening weekend)

Week 4: Lions at Seahawks (could have been a matchup in last season's NFC divisional round, had some calls gone Detroit’s way)
Week 5: Steelers at Chargers
Week 6: Giants at Eagles

Week 10: Texans at Bengals
Week 11: Bills at Patriots

I know it isn’t earth shattering, but I believe it’s mildly interesting to us NFL fans. The new season is creeping up on us.
Good, they should be punished for relentlessly promoting that homo player and all things homosexual. Between them and Sports Illustrated, it was way over the top.
I don’t think the slate is that bad. Of course it should be mentioned that ESPN has now parted ways with both of the mentioned employees.
Yep, a pretty bad slate for MNF. Sunday Night Football blows it away with marquee matchups.

I’ve never watched BSPN since they canned Rush, but from I’ve read, Simmons regularly bashed Goodell.
Week 8 Could be a Superbowl preview.
Panthers, and Colts playoffs last 2 years.
ESPN could not reach an agreement with him on a new contract and pretty much exiled him until his current one runs out here shortly. He was very hard on Goodell.
NBC, the all Steelers network.
3 games on SNF, and they pretty much sucked last year. They get more SNF games than any other team most years.
Yep, the Thanksgiving game at SF. Don’t want to offend any Niner fans here, but I believe there going to be pretty much irrelevant this year.
They’ve pretty much had a lousy schedule since NBC has had the Sunday Night games.

I think there’s so much parity anymore that they all could be good games or stinkers. Now parity only goes so far - only certain teams can win the Super Bowl, but all but the worst can make a game of it with anyone on any Monday night it seems.
How is that a bad slate?
