What could go wrong? Nice move, Colonel.

“Work is already underway on the hi-tech 130-metre-long Atlant, which is to be created by merging technology from planes, hovercraft and airships.”
I saw this in the movie, “The Avengers.” Except they did it with an aircraft carrier.

It’ll be powered by an unquenchable supply of hot air, thanks to Putin’s bloviating.

What could go wrong? Good question. The Hindenburg used hydrogen as a lift gas primarily because these United States had a near monopoly on helium. We didn't sell strategic materials to the nasty NAZIs running the Third Reich. Russia has a lot of natural gas. I don't know if their gas deposits have a meaningful percentage of helium ... if not, they could have problems.

I don't know if their gas deposits have a meaningful percentage of helium ... if not, they could have problems. Helium is susceptible to the variances of temperature. This is the primary reason derigibles were eliminated from the US arsenal.
