Omaha Police tell WOWT 6 News that a Juneteenth parade was 80-percent done when a large fight broke out causing five people to be arrested. The five people were charged with disorderly conduct.
Additional people ran off into neighborhoods before police could arrest them. Police said that initial reports indicated that some of the people who escaped the initial fight were armed, causing the event to be shutdown.
The event was being put on by the Omaha Branch of the NAACP. The parade started as expected at 10:45 a.m. near 30th and Lake, but never made it to it's end destination at 30th and Sprague.
Another example of how some people just can’t have nice things.
I guess they can’t read a calander! The teens of June have been over for a week and a day.
Gays should quickly organize a gay pride parade in its place.
That should cheer everybody up.
Isn’t Juneteenth anti-American?
