There seems to be a lot of shark attacks lately. Obviously it must be racism.

I would get a tan on the beach and swim in the Hotel pool.
Charlotte is a great city but swimming at the beaches is not a good idea this summer.

Flash forward about 70 years and some old man is going to be saying, “In my day, we were bitten by sharks all the time! We didn’t complain! It was just how it was back then!”

Hawaii? North Carolina? Cape Cod? Martha’s Vinyard? Australia? Florida? California? South Carolina? New Jersey?
Flame away but could we just get a break?

Two stories dominated the news during the summer of 2001. First was the Gary Condit/Chandra Levy story, and the other was an uptick in the reporting of shark attacks. Although 2001 was not statistically different than any other year, it was a slow news summer and the media glommed onto a handful of shark attacks so much so that it became known as,
"Summer of the Shark".
Of course, all that changed on September 11.
