Yes. Sam Tanenhaus’ “Whittaker Chambers: a biography” is the best account of the case, as well as Chambers’ own “Witness”.

He wrote the book before the information from the Soviet archives was available. He updated the book with new information from Soviet archives in 1997. Although I own it, this edition is not widely available.

The Nation is in the interesting position of holding these two ideas simultaneously: (a) any right minded person would be proud of promoting world socialist revolution, and (b) it is vicious and immoral to accuse someone of promoting world socialist revolution.
