I learned old macdonald had a farm as a series in a memory song ...
I went looking and youtube is loaded with separate verses and not as a series ....
Was I the only one that learned old macdonald as a series song ?
You must have had classmates to learned it that way, so I suspect the answer to your question is, “No!”
I learned it as a series song in elementary school.
It appears your memory has held up.
I think it properly IS a series song, but I’m thinking they did it the other way to make it a quicker, easier song, for the audience as well as the kids.
My grandson has a little finger puppet, like a glove, with a book with the words sewn in the palm and an animal at the end of each finger, very cute.
