I had that prehistoric mammals book. There were some really dopey looking animals back then (in the eyes of the artist, anyway).

Prehistoric mammals are what gets me.
From the period of the dinosaur extinction, well, until about 15,000 years ago, there was a time of MASSIVE MAMMALS!
We’re talking critters like 50’ tall, that sort of thing.
And lots of them WERE NOT very nice!
