Guess most everyone I knew when I was growing up would have been jailed and the keys thrown away. Every Sunday morning we would catch three chickens, grab them by their neck and swing them around until the head separated from the chicken, let the remains flop a while and then dunk it in a tub of boiling hot water so we could pluck them.

Wonder if these folks ever wondered where the saying “Running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off” came from.

I enjoy eating meat as part of my daily food. I know chickens, pigs, beef cows and other animals are raised and slaughtered in the steps which bring the meat to market. These are live animals, but also a commodity for sale.

I don’t want to hear how the killing and other steps are done as long as it’s done in an efficient way to get the meat to market as an affordable, sanitary and fresh product. I assume the raising and killing is done in a non brutal way as producers want the product to be of acceptable quality for sale.

The vegans keep turning out these videos to try to turn us into vegetarians, it won’t sway me.

I’m willing to pay a little more for chickens that eat bugs.

I eat less and less meat; cannot stand the cruelty these animals are subjected to. Why is it considered necessary?

I grew up on a beef cattle ranch.

My Grandpa (who raised me) was the farm animal whisperer. He treated every single animal like a pet. He put himself in danger when floods came to see to their welfare.

When it came time to butcher a cow, it was done humanly. I know, because I was there when it was done.

There is no excuse to be mean to an animal. It just portrays the real character of the human.
