MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A billboard in Memphis gives new meaning to the phrase "black lives matter."
Big and bold, in red and black, the message stands out to drivers in the Orange Mound neighborhood: "Black lives matter. So let's quit killing each other."
Civil rights activist Fred Davis is the man behind the message. He's not new to putting up controversial billboards.
Davis' billboard is directly in front of his insurance company. He said he's expanding on the "black lives matter" movement following the deaths of black men across the country.
He said it's time black people realize they need to stop violence against each other.

I would drive over and check this out but I might get carjacked
He’ll be denounced as a sellout. You can bet on it.
Man F dat Uncal Tom @ss sell owt! I be still strapped readay to cap a punk!
Agreed - but I bet he isn’t willing to support the steps needed to stop the killing. Get rid of the welfare programs that provide the incentives to have lots of fatherless children and to not have gainful employment. Make people need to work for a living - work that keeps them honest and gives self-respect and hope for themselves. Then the killings will stop. It might take forty years though.
Mr.Davis, thank you for saying what some do say, time to stop killing. All lives matter, no matter what.
Read the reply...some are denouncing him...
Well stopping the killing would be a step in the right direction.
Like I said - a lot easier said than done. Sort of like the “Just say no to drugs”. In fact, I would imagine that most of the killings are somehow tied to drugs (gangs, territory, etc.).
You would be right. That’s why the cops don’t care about a lot of the killings. Drug and gang related.
the libs on the website of the story are all in high dudgeon.....
Killing each other is only a symptom of root cause...single parent households. No one will touch dat...
drugs and drug money are probably closer to the root of the problem. Growing up without a father doesn’t make people go out and commit murder. Drugs and drug money on the other hand...
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” — Orwell
Encouraging.
Disagree...Look up the numbers. Kids with stable 2 parent households are much more likely to eschew drugs and crime. And single parent households are the number 1 predictor of poverty in America
