I’ve been reading these articles here at Free Republic, and suspect that the Duggars were concerned that they’d lose their children to the state authorities if they went to the police. Josh was old enough he should have been sent away to a boys camp, the kind with barbed wire fencing around it.
Could indeed be part of the reason but I’ve seen any number of cases like this and the State never did that once the Offender was pulled out of the home.
The Prosecutors need to be all over this. This is disgusting.
What does not seem to concern anyone is that the detective the boy spoke to was later convicted of engaging in a child pornography ring, and that the courts and the police failed to protect all the children by releasing their sealed records. If anything, families facing the same kinds of problems and watching this walk away thinking they cannot trust the authorities to do the right thing. Either the authorities are perverts themselves or they are above the law and vindictive.
I wonder why no one focuses on this? This is as big if not bigger than the molestation itself.

Darn right. I think mom and dad knew this that is why they said in Megan’s interview the other night “we were protecting Josh”. Yea they were protecting the predator.
