The weather people do their best to determine where one is going and I’ve never seen “mass panic”. You are wrong if you are saying weather people on purpose try to create mass panic.
I HAVE seen people in the path of one, do absolutely nothing to secure water/food/light/medical supplies before it hits. I’m always ready in hurricane season so I’m not in a rush to get what is needed. Time after time I’ve gone through them with no power for days afterward. Luckily, my houses through the years, didn’t get damaged badly or blown away.
When Ike came through, water was pushed through a closed and locked window and an upper bedroom had water come in at a corner when the water was forced by the wind through the tile roof shingles. I was lucky that is all that happened. Then, came the days without power.
