Ever notice the NBA never plays on Father's Day? Think that's a coincidence. I don't.

What's the most confusing day in the world? Father's day in the NBA.

Why does the NBA season last until mid June?

The Super Bowl used to be in mid January. Now can be in mid February. But its never in January anymore.

This year, the World Series will end in November. In the old days, the series was over by mid October.

Why have all pro sports stetched out their seasons so long??

And does anyone really want to see November baseball???

Hi.

What's the most confusing day in the world? Father's day in the NBA.

Or a baby at a topless bar?

Obviously--obviously, the DON'T PLAY ON FATHER'S DAY conspiracy is an Illuminato-flower shopo-Templar Knightso-Reptiliano-ufo, conspiracy to get children and fathers together and allow them to enjoy each others' company without the pressure of a sport involved.

How could we have been so blind?

Ad revenue would be my best guess.

For me, the prospect of NBA players talkin’ ‘bout their fathers and their chillins is far from edifying.

They are playing the hockey in June.

I like hockey but that is just wrong.

Baseball should start in May and the World Series should be played in September.

Football should not start until Baseball season is done and should end with the Super Bowl in early January.

Hockey should start in October and the Stanley Cup should be in April.

Basketball can start when they like but it should be over by March.

Don Larsen’s perfect game was on October 8, 1956. Robinson stole home, despite Berra’s catcher’s interference, on September 24, 1955. (Catcher’s interference was never called, but should have been. By the modern rule, the pitcher would have been charged with a balk, and the batter awarded first. Normally, if catcher’s interference occurs, it is a dead ball, and the batter is awarded first, runners advancing only if forced. On an attempt to steal home or on a squeeze play, the ball is live and the offended team can accept the outcome of the play or the enforcement of the penalty, which would result in a run scoring and the batter being awarded first. )

I fully agree. Keep all sports in their season of the year.

I once heard Bud Selig say he didn’t like how long the baseball season was. He said he didn’t want to still be playing in November. He was only the commissioner, didn’t have any say at all over TV contracts and schedules. (Sarcasm)

I’m sure we could have a long thread on Bud Selig and his time as commissioner. Just saying, I was a bit shocked that the top man in the game was saying he knew of fan complaints about the long season and long playoff series, he agreed with them, but then made it sound like he had no control over what baseball does in that area.

Money, that is why. More games, more ticket sales, more playoffs more ticket sales, and more tv money.

NBA Basketball could just disappear and that would be just fine. But this? Listening to the wisdom of LeBron into June is just wrong.

I could care less about this, but want to point out that the NBA has only gone 7 games 18 times in 68 seasons.

That’s nothing compared to European soccer, it started in August and ends next week with the Champions League Final.
