OAKLAND — What's one more week compared to a 40-year championship drought? What's one more week when it means a shot at the first title in franchise history?

The Warriors eliminated the Rockets with a 104–90 victory in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals on Wednesday, advancing to an NBA Finals date with the Cavaliers. This is a matchup worth waiting for, and a little patience will be required. Because both Golden State and Cleveland made quick work of their conference finals foes, the NBA will hit the pause button for a full week before the championship series opens in Oakland on June 4.

Don't pinch me. I don't want to wake up.

Warriors in seven. Cavs will need more than an 8-man rotation to hang with the W's over the course of a best of seven series.

I can't root for either. The Warriors fired Mark Jackson for his Christian views on gay marriage. And the Cavs have LeBron, whom I detest.

They fired Jackson for under performing and wasting time talking about things that didn’t matter for the team. He had a job to do, didn’t do it, now he’s gone and his replacement is in the championship.

Get your facts straight. Mark Jackson was fired for being a bad game day coach. And not listening to his assistant coaches. That’s all.

Who cares. NFL training camps open in about a month and a half, and America’s favorite sport will be off and running for 2015.

Go team which is geographically within 15 miles to me but otherwise don’t give a rip (Warriors).

No one with GS could stand Mark Jackson. He is highly abrasive.

I think it will be Warriors in six—unless the Cavaliers suddenly figure out a way to stop Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, which will immediately even the odds.

If Curry has a bad game the Warriors can still win. If LeBron has a bad game the Cavs can’t. The Warriors have 3 strng defenders to rotate on LeBron in Green, Igoudala and Barnes. The Warriors have the deepest bench with an 11 man rotation. LeBron will have his days but the deeper team should prevail.

If Curry has a bad game the Warriors can still win. If LeBron has a bad game the Cavs can’t.

That is incorrect. Especially if Kyrie has recovered well. The Cavs have JR Smith, Shumpert, Jones, Delly, even Miller all capable of 6 threes on any night. Kyrie can put in 20 when injured. Thompson can generate multiple second chances so that LeBron can get his even in a bad night. Heck, LeBron's shooting hasn't even been close to the best all post season.

I've watched them all year and it's going to be a great series.
