Same here. Watched evening news in high school (69) and stopped thereafter. At 18, I couldn’t take the daily news fest out of Vietnam. Switched to the WSJ in college, then to FR et al in the 90s.

I actually quit TV entirely in HS and didn’t return until well-produced modern serial shows arrived: Boardwalk Empire, Downton Abbey, Carnivale, House of Cards, Deadwood, Turn, The Honorable Woman, The Americans, Homeland, etc.
