Yikes. Protest moves to the Internet. This could be a really bad thing if lots of sites decide to band together to protest whatever the protest du jour is. Imagine Amazon, Google, Walmart, HSN, Target, etc. all banding together to protest something and going dark. Imagine the impact on commerce. Or all the banks online go dark. Or PayPal and Bill Me Later, or all the real estate sites like Zillow, etc. decide to protest some issue or the other. What a mess. Hope this doesn’t become a fad or serious problem in the future. Be careful what you are praising now because it may suit your political viewpoint, as the next protest on-line might not.
