“The behavior of the boys changes the minute a girl steps on the field.”
This is not always true. I have a co-worker with a daughter who plays soccer during the summer on boy/girl teams. The boys play hard and have made her a better player. She’s so good that she is a freshman in high school and already on the girls varsity soccer team. Her Mom is praying for a soccer scholarship now. I’m certain this Muslim team would be scared to play against her... as they should be. She’s awesome.
That’s real nice for the girl.
But she destroyed the experiences and benefits for all the boys. They had to hold back to let the girl play.
The boys don’t get to improve because the level of play is reset lower to benefit the girl. Very selfish.
Robert F. Hall Catholic School, in Caledon, does not have a girls team so the two females played on the senior boys team, which was approved by the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA). During halftime, the ISNA Private Islamic High School team brought the concern to the referee. Robert F. Hall Catholic School school was winning the game 3â1 at that point.
