You may be surprised at which way inter-species battles can go.
There's a video around of an alligator coming out of a pond for some chicken meat guarded by a domestic tabby. The gator has several tries for the chicken, but the tabby bats at the gator's nose with its paw and the gator finally gives up goes back into the water.
One often sees a small bird drive off a larger bird because it can fly tighter turns than the big one -- kinda like a fighter and a bomber plane.
