Today’s automatic washing machines, in the name of “energy efficiency,” don’t even TRY to wash clothes!
Either the soap doesn’t rinse out, or the clothes still have stains on them. It’s a total PITA...
You have to use stain remover first. That’s been true for a long time. My mama told me. And I just learned that side-loading washers are kinder to the clothes than top-loaders. I should have known that one—the first just tosses them around, the second beats them to a pulp.
