Technically, they don't have homecoming games in baseball, but the Orioles had been away so long and under such strange circumstances that the concept was hard to resist.
So, the Orioles took the field in brand-new "Baltimore" home jerseys and five randomly-selected fans from Baltimore City threw out five ceremonial first pitches before the start of Monday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Orioles fans returned to Camden Yards for the first time since April 26 due to the unrest in Baltimore because of the death of Freddie Gray on April 19 while he was in police custody.
Do you think that The One will show up there to throw out a pitch and appeal for healing following that ugly spectacle?
I know, being silly for thinking that since we know that he and the Wookie are more than content to continue their baiting things like Fox News and museums.
I can only imagine some of the political commercials to come.. Hopefully run by baseball and mom and apple pie kind of folks. That speak truth to the powers that be the main reason why the gates were closed.

Is that photo from the most recent home game? If so, it looks like a lot of people from the county are still afraid to go downtown. I don’t blame them, but I feel for all those businesses that rely solely on the stadium crowds. The city killed them, too.
The problem is that this time, it’s not guaranteed that they’ll have the protection from police when they venture to Camden Yards for baseball games.
It doesn't look like more than a couple thousand people at most.
Most MLB games on TV show sparse crowds, but that just takes the cake.
Looks like a 3 hour rain delay crowd.
Balto has always had a revenue problem and relies heavily on the property taxes from gentrified districts like Canton and established wealthy areas like Homewood, Roland Park and Guilford. The fact that the Mayor, and so many others, have declared war on the white people in these neighborhoods is only going to make things worse.
Just wait until summer when the yutes are no longer confined to school and the temperature at night is in the 90's. Gonna get ugly.
