There is a melon I had in China called Durian that smells like rotty old socks (and has been known to clear a room) but was delicious !

Durian smells atrocious, but I found the taste sublime. Texture is like brie, and for me the taste was like a cross between carmelized onion and cheesecake (in a good way).
