Thank God our founding fathers believed differently than St. Paul or we would all be singing ‘God Save the Queen’ at sporting events.

Did they really believe differently? Or did they set in place basic Biblical values. Values that are tossed aside these days.

Question. How is singing ‘God Save the Queen’ any better or worse than singing ‘God Bless America’?

There were examples in the OT of disobeying authorities,
when those authorities required something prohibited by God,
or prohibited something required by God.

Remember Paul said these things, not Jesus.

I admit to a certain skepticism about certain Bible passages considering it wasn't set down in written form until several centuries AFTER Christ.AND that the conference that did set the Bible into written form was convened with the assistance and authority of a secular ruler.Looking at the history of earthly kings and the blood they shed to become king causes me to doubt Paul's advice on this obedience. For how can we obey those in authority when their laws are opposed to all we know to be good?
